Test it before you build it

On shelf in days, not quarters. Our bases are already shelf-ready — we make them for our own brands. You sell our proven recipe under your label first; once you know it works, then we tweak the formula with you.

5-litre minimum, not 10,000-unit

Start with just 5 litres of base — about 40 tins for clay or pomade, or 20 bottles for spray. Test your range with the customers you already serve before scaling up.

Instead of selling Uppercut / Layrite / Suavecito and keeping a thin retail cut, sell your own. The retail price is yours to set, and the customer remembers your shop, not theirs.

Use our shelf-ready recipe first. Customise the formula only after you've validated it sells.

Try the bases

Free sample kit ships same-day to next-day — Clay, Pomade and Sea Salt Spray in unbranded tins and bottles. Try them on your clients. These are the same bases we make for our own brands, already proven on real customers.

Brand them

Approve your label artwork (we'll design it if you don't have a brand yet) and lock in packaging — standard 70 g tins for clay and pomade, 200 ml bottles for spray, premium upgrades optional.

On shelf in days

Your first run — minimum 5 litres of base (≈ 40 tins or 20 bottles) — ships within 1–2 weeks of label sign-off. Same proven recipe as your sample kit, just under your brand. You're selling from the chair before your distributor's next case-pack even ships.

Iterate when you've got data

After 1–2 months on shelf, you'll know what your clients are actually saying. Tweak the recipe with us for your second run — hold strength, finish, scent — based on real feedback, not guesses. Three rounds of recipe iteration included for the custom batch.

Matte Clay Base

Strong, reworkable hold. Low shine. Modern textured styles.

The workhorse base for short-to-medium cuts that need texture and grip. Strong enough to hold a quiff or a crop through the day, but reworkable with damp fingers — and washes out clean with one shampoo.

Base profile: Water + wax hybrid. Bentonite and kaolin clays for matte grip and oil control. Microcrystalline plus candelilla wax for the hold backbone. Anti-humidity complex built in so the style doesn't drop on a wet Wellington day.

Classic Pomade Base

Medium hold. Natural shine. Washes out like a gel, holds like a wax.

The classic-cut workhorse. Slick-backs, side-parts, polished modern styles. Flexible enough to comb back through the day without locking solid, and reactivates with a splash of water — restyle, don't re-product.

Base profile: Water-based. Kaolin clay for structure. Brazilian palm and carnauba wax for flexible hold. No petrolatum, no buildup, no flakes. Reactivates when wet — the same defining feature as Layrite Original, with a recipe that's yours, not theirs.

Sea Salt Spray Base

Lightweight texture and volume. Beachy, undone, easy.

The pre-styler that does half the work before the wax or clay even comes out. Adds grit and definition without stiffness, works on wet or dry hair, and turns a flat cut into something with movement.

Base profile: Sea salt and sodium alginate for natural texture and a soft, salt-water-set hold. Coconut-derived emollients to keep hair from drying out. Light-hold polymer for definition that survives a coffee run but combs out clean.
